Solent NHS Trust’s is holding a unique recruitment event on Tuesday 13 December, between 1pm and 7pm, at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton, to showcase the huge number of job roles available within the Trust, many of which people may not have thought of applying for.

Included in the event will be the Trust’s Catering Team, who only recently came third in the national NHS Chef of the Year Awards. They will be on hand to showcase how they help patients recover with nutrition and hydration to help patients recover, and also to exhibit the unexpectedly high standard of cuisine you could expect from a restaurant.

Also attending will be the Adults Community Nursing, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language teams, all with specialist equipment that would be used within with in their roles, which attendees can try their hand at using.

The Trust’s Administration Team will also be attending, along with the Estates Team, who will be showing how hospitals are designed, with the excellent Housekeeping Team showcasing the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control, and giving a crash course on hospital reception skills.

Jackie Munro, Chief Nurse at Solent NHS Trust, said: “People may be thinking about a new job or returning to work in the new year, and we know that many may not realise just how varied and incredibly rewarding the NHS can be to work for. Solent is unique, in that as a community and mental health trust, we run hospitals, including the Western Community Hospital in Southampton, but are also out in the community and in people’s homes. We really do offer huge range of roles, and we are proud to top in national surveys for listening to and supporting our people. I would encourage everyone to come along and see what Solent is about, how we make a difference to people’s lives and see what Team Solent has to offer you.”

Also on hand will be the Trust’s Bank Team, offering flexible work opportunities for people looking to return to work or add to their current job, along with the Trust’s Volunteering Team and Community Engagement Team.
