Accessibility

We serve an ethnically diverse population with more than 150 different languages spoken in the area. Clear communication is essential for safe clinical assessment.

Our staff are able to book a range of interpreting and translating services to enable effective communication with service users and carers whose first language is not English.

It is possible to use Google's free online translation service in some cases directly from our website.

We hope that you find this useful but please remember that this translation tool relies on Google's language database, meaning technical and medical references may not always translate accurately.

If you require translations for specific parts of our website or any linked documents, please contact us. We can provide alternative formats on request for people who have visual impairment or who are deaf or hard of hearing.

We can provide customised information for people with learning disability and carers. We are currently piloting a range of Easy Read formats for general use.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is the leading charity offering information, support and advice to almost two million people with sight loss. Our websites developers have trained with the RNIB to ensure that this website is as accessible as we can make it.

More detailed information about how to change the fonts and font sizes in your operating system and in various other browsers is available online at BBC My Web My Way. This comprehensive site also includes information about changing the colours in your operating system and web browser, changing the mouse pointer and using the keyboard instead of the mouse.
