Local organisations join forces to offer free health advice for the community
Solent NHS Trust is encouraging members of the community to join leading health services and organisations from across Rushmoor and the wider Hampshire area as part of a health and wellbeing event.
Offering a range of free assistance and support, the event will be hosted by Solent on Friday 28 February 2020 at the West End Centre in Aldershot, Hampshire.
A variety of services, including the Trust’s Sexual Health and Dentistry team will be available to provide advice. There will also be a number of health and wellbeing organisations for the local area, such as Smoke Free Hampshire, Solent Mind mental health charity and the Princes Trust, offering health assessments and guidance.
The event, which particularly welcomes people from the Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) community, will be providing health checks on the day along with a range of mindfulness activities as well as programmes for young people to get involved in.
The inclusive, family-friendly event is focused on transforming and improving the health and wellbeing of the community and the services attending are positioned to help and support everyone in the local area.
Kate Sonpal, Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Solent NHS Trust, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many services from both in and outside of the Trust come together to offer valuable support to the people at the heart of our community.
“Our ambition is to deliver great care to more people and I would like to thank each one of the organisations for taking the time to help us keep even more people safe and well as we possibly can.”
