Solent NHS Trust launches first ‘Nurse of the Year’ award

Solent NHS Trust has launched its inaugural Nurse of the Year Award giving service users and patients the opportunity to nominate those who really make the difference to them.

The award is part of Solent NHS Trust’s celebration of International Nurses Day 2019 on Friday 10 May 2019, and will be presented to a nurse who lives the Solent values of innovation, creativity and excellence in providing compassionate care.

All nurses, both registered and non-registered, working in Solent services can be nominated. The closing date is Friday 12 April 2019.

The award will be presented by the Chief Executive at the 2019 Celebrating Nursing event on Friday 10 May.

Solent NHS Trust Chief Nurse Jackie Ardley said: “I know we have some amazing people working in our organisation and I very much look forward to reading all the nominations and celebrating the outstanding care we provide.”

Nominations can be made by Solent colleagues and patients by visiting www.solentawards.nhs.uk

To vote for the nurse you feel deserves this special recognition simply click on the ‘thumbs up’ symbol just below the nomination. The five nurses with the highest number of votes will be put before a panel, including volunteers and patients, who will select the Solent NHS ‘Nurse of the Year 2019’.
