Tuberculosis Screening and BCG Vaccination Centre
This community nursing team provides screening for tuberculosis, support to patients with tuberculosis and neonatal BCG vaccination.

Referral criteria
- Patients with symptoms of Tuberculosis requiring screening (mantoux, quantiferon, chest x-ray)
- Patients newly arrived from countries with a TB prevalence of 150 or more per 100,000 (see HPA website: http://www.hpa.org.uk/web/HPAweb&HPAwebStandard/HPAweb_C/1195733758290)
- Neo-nates or children aged under 16 with parents or grandparents from countries with a TB prevalence of 40 or more per 100,000 (see HPA website: http://www.hpa.org.uk/web/HPAweb&HPAwebStandard/HPAweb_C/1195733758290) - for BCG vaccination

Full service description
The Tuberculosis Screening and BCG Vaccination Service provides the following:
- new entrant screening for active and latent TB
- screening of symptomatic patients and referral to TB Consultants
- neo-natal BCG vaccination
- support for patients with Tuberculosis including monitoring of medication
