The easiest and quickest way to access Physiotherapy in Southampton and Portsmouth is to self-refer.
A paper self-referral form is also available in your GP Practice or from the Physiotherapy Departments in Portsmouth (Queen Alexandra Hospital and St Mary's Community Health Campus) or Southampton (Adelaide Health Centre and Moorgreen Hospital). You can fill in the paper form and follow the attached instructions.
To self-refer to Physiotherapy you must:
- Be aged 16 or over
- Be registered with a Portsmouth or Southampton GP Practice
- Have a musculoskeletal (MSK) pain/condition
Alternatively, your GP can refer you into the Physiotherapy service.
Hydrotherapy (Service only available in Portsmouth)
The Hydrotherapy service does not not accept self-referrals, or referrals directly from GP's.
To access Hydrotherapy you will need to be assessed by a physiotherapist who can refer into the service if clinically indicated.
