Support for Men

All of the services at a SARC are for men, women and children. Regardless of age, sexuality or gender, you will be believed and treated with dignity and respect. At Treetops we have female and male crisis workers.

Male rape is not something that’s often reported. According to the most recent government statistics, 75,000 men are estimated to be victims of sexual assault or attempted assault each year, with 9,000 men estimated to be victims of rape or attempted rape.  Statistics show that an estimated 94% of assaults go unreported.

If you are a man and you have been raped or sexually assaulted, we can help. We can provide immediate medical care, a forensic examination, blood tests and advice about sexual health and HIV medication. We can also put you in touch with counselling services. All of this is regardless of whether the police are involved or not.

To get help you can contact us on 0300 123 6616.
