Minor Oral Surgery - MOSRC

This service is provided to help Trusts and Primary Care Practitioners when considering referring patients for intermediate oral surgery. Referrals will be accepted for patients who meet the referral criteria (see link below) and have a general medical practitioner with a post code in the area of Hampshire or Dorset (includes Isle of Wight, Southampton, Portsmouth, Poole Bournemouth and Dorchester).

The responsibility for making an appropriate referral rests with the referring health care professional, and the appropriate form (see below) should be used.

A diagnostic quality radiograph that shows the tooth to be treated and supports indication for referral should be provided for each referral. All radiographs should be less than 6 months old, printed on photographic paper and will be returned to the referring practitioner.

To make a referral, please check the referral criteria (see link below) and then use the referral form (see link below).

Please note that referrals for Oral Medicine, Maxillofacial Surgery and TMJ disorder should be sent directly to the relevant hospital and not to MOSRC.
