I have diabetes

Research suggest depression is twice as common in people with diabetes (Diabetes UK). It can have a significant impact on an individual’s wellbeing and their ability to self-manage their diabetes, putting them at risk of developing the serious complications of the condition.

Understandably coming to terms with having diabetes and adjusting to living life with the condition can be very difficult especially when it is experienced alongside depression and/or anxiety. Evidence has shown effective talking therapies can lead to improvement in managing symptoms of diabetes as well as reducing psychological distress.
