Visitor guidance

We have taken the difficult decision to suspend visiting at all Solent NHS Trust sites. We understand this may be upsetting for many families, but the health, safety and wellbeing of our patients, communities, individuals and teams across the organisation remains our absolute priority.

Please do not attend appointments with patients at any of our sites, unless the patient needs to be accompanied e.g. by a carer. Accompanying visitors should not stay in the ward or communal areas, this applies to inpatient and outpatient settings.

The only exceptional circumstance where visiting is allowed is to patients receiving end-of-life care. Families will need to contact the relevant ward in advance to discuss appropriate arrangements.

We would encourage people to find other ways to keep in touch, such as through phone and video calls.

We continue to work closely with national health and safety bodies and follow national guidance to ensure that all our services are safe and meet the necessary requirements. Thank you for your continued support and understanding at this challenging time.
