Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Group
The Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Group, which forms part of the sub-committee structure of the People & OD Committee, oversees the delivery of the Trust's Equality and Diversity strategy. The group meets once a quarter to ensure we are providing a positive working environment for staff which will then enable the provision of high quality care and good clinical outcomes for patients.
This year we are focusing in on the following strategic questions:
• Are we creating a diverse, equal and inclusive culture that meets the needs of all our staff and our service users?
• Do all our people have equal access to the support they need to be at their best?
• Do we have the leadership needed at each level of the organisation to deliver and embed our Equality and Diversity strategy?
• Are our values embedded in our decision-making and behaviours in a way that supports Equality, Diversity and Inclusion?
We are currently reviewing the membership of the group and are keen to ensure this is more representative of our workforce. We are asking for staff volunteers who are keen to support this agenda to get involved, particularly if you are able to represent some of the protected characteristics, such as disability, BME (Black & Minority Ethnic) or LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Trans) backgrounds. You will need to be able to represent colleagues' as well as your own views.
