Celebrating Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week 2017

Dr Clare Mander, our Clinical Lead for Accessible Information (AI) has launched the use of Instagram to make our social media more accessible to people with communication and information needs, as part of the of the sixth Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week.

This form of communication is ideal for people with AI needs because it uses photography and short films. Throughout the week we posted to our Instagram feed @SolentNHS_AI

Our Instagram feed will be supported by the ‘Solent Accessible Information Network’ and will provide the perfect opportunity to showcase the brilliant practice developments from across the Trust.

Dr Clare Mander said:Dr Clare Mander said: “As a trust, we want our services to be inclusive and accessible to everyone. It is really important, therefore, for all our patients to receive information in a format that they can understand and access communication support when needed. By using Instagram, we can raise awareness about accessible information.

‘It also enables those with information and communication needs to engage in our social media through viewing images relating to our accessible information developments and watching key messages from our staff.”
