Equality and Human Rights
Equality and Human Rights Sub-Committee
The Committee is responsible for overseeing and providing leadership in relation to corporate policies, work programmes and initiatives concerned with equality and human rights. It provides a source of assurance to the Trust Management Team and Board.
Key Responsibilities

lead on the development and delivery of an organisation-wide equality, diversity and human rights strategy

review and adapt equality, diversity and human rights initiatives, policies and procedures

monitor compliance with agreed policies and procedures relating to equality, diversity and human rights, taking or recommending remedial action as required;

agree actions which are to be included in the organisation’s Single Equality Scheme and monitor progress against the resulting action plan;

ensure equality, diversity and human rights issues are addressed within corporate business plans;

provide a source of assurance on compliance or otherwise with the statutory requirements relating to equality, diversity and human rights

champion equality and human rights issues and ensure that these are adequately communicated as required, promoting good practice and organisational learning

report and analyse workforce and service derived E&HR data

produce an annual review of equality and human rights initiatives and report this to the Assurance Committee
