IRAS

IRAS is not a form, it is a system to help you produce the forms you need to gain approval to conduct your research in the NHS. It is not just for ethics; it produces almost all the application forms you need. You only need to enter your details once as it will populate all relevant forms.

IRAS also allows you to apply for your study to be adopted onto the NIHR portfolio. Take a look at Portfolio and Non-Portfolio Research for information on the differences between the two, the benefits available, and the eligibility criteria.

To make an application for the study to be considered for NIHR Clinical Research Network support and inclusion in the NIHR CRN Portfolio select No for question 5a and Yes to question 5b in the project filter section.
