The research passport is a document that provides evidence of the pre-engagement checks undertaken on the researcher. It also creates a process by which researchers can provide NHS R & D offices with details of the pre-engagement checks that have been undertaken on them by their main employer. This reduces the need for duplicate checks to be carried out on researchers.
This guidance has been produced by NRES and is designed to assist researchers to create participant information sheets and consent forms.
