Physical Health

A long-term physical health condition (also known as a chronic condition) is a health problem that requires ongoing support over a period of years or decades. The condition cannot currently be cured but can be managed with the use of psychotherapy and medication.

Our physical and mental health are inextricably linked and people who live with a long-term physical condition are also likely to experience mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. Many patients do not realise that they have depression and anxiety and might even think it is part of their symptoms. They might feel that they cannot do anything about it. However, this is not the case.

We provide support for a variety of long-term physical health conditions including stroke, diabetes, chronic pain and chronic fatigue syndrome, and heart or lung conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
