Free shopping vouchers worth £50 are being offered to a limited number of Southampton City residents who set a health goal with the help of Solent NHS Trust’s Health Promotion service.
To get the vouchers, adults living in the City will need to contact the service and set a health goal before the end of this month. Goals could include:
The vouchers have got to be redeemed before 31 August 2011 so residents are encouraged to contact the service quickly through either Southampton Quitters on 023 8051 5221 or Southampton Health Trainers on 023 8051 5222. Other conditions apply and will be discussed on contact but the vouchers will be offered on a first come first serve basis.
Glenn Turner, Head of Health Promotion at Solent NHS Trust said: “We know how hard it is to make a positive change but we are here to help. Setting a goal is the first stage and we are here to support you through the process. There has never been a better time to do it and we are pleased that through the Change 4 Life initiative, we are able to offer these vouchers that are bound to make some difference in these current times especially for someone intending to live a much healthier lifestyle.

A health goal would be defined as:
Setting a date to stop smoking with the NHS stop smoking service
Setting an agreed target to be more active
Setting an agreed weight loss target
Cutting down on smoking would not count as a health goal as this is not proven to have long term health benefits.
People would only be eligible if they use one of Solent NHS Trust’s support services (Southampton Quitters or Southampton Health Trainers)
