Solent NHS Trust has teamed up with Sustrans for an Easter Egg Trail walk around Southampton Common. Aimed at getting families active, the walk is taking place on Thursday 21 April 2011 from 10.15am.
In addition to the leisurely family walk in search of the Easter Bunny, registered participants will be treated to free refreshments, Easter eggsand a raffle at Hawthorns Café. A colouring competition for children is also on offer.
Solent NHS Trust and Sustrans administrator, Kelli Stephens, organiser of the walk said: “We have had an overwhelming 250 plus people confirmed to take part in the walk already but everyone is welcome to just join in on the day. It is a great way to get families together and get active - children and adults alike. We are hoping for some English sunshine but the walk will take place come rain or shine!”
There are two different types of walk to suit everyone, including push chair and wheelchair users.The longer walk will take approximately one hour (2.2 miles). Shorter walks are available taking approximately 35 minutes (1.2 miles).
